Maddie Blackburn
Maddie was introduced to the equestrian world at a young age, as her grandparents owned horses. She discovered Cameron Oaks during her middle school years, where she began her competitive riding journey. At Cameron Oaks, Maddie joined their IEA team and successfully advanced to the Zone Finals in South Carolina. After her IEA journey, she joined Auburn University's IHSA Equestrian Team upon entering college. She had two successful competition years, placing in the top three of her division at every competition she attended with Auburn.
Maddie left the IHSA team in her junior year to focus on finishing her horses and taking them to competitions with the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association. She has trained all of her personal horses and received numerous year-end champion titles and other top placings in the hunters, jumpers, and equitation divisions with her four horses.
Maddie’s passion lies with the horses and ponies that are often overlooked and in need of new jobs. Her training journey began with her first OTTB, The Great Gatsby, and has continued with rescues and another OTTB as her passion grows. She has been training young riders for the last two years and is now considered a professional in the sport as her experience grows daily. Over the years, Maddie has ridden over 250 horses, and she is thrilled to continue her journey back at Cameron Oaks, where it all began.
